Windows 7 ie8 not responding

That does not mean I can't be blind or make a mistake, that is why I am here asking for help to see where it is I might possibly be missing something. Otherwise there is still the other outstanding issue that I have been unable to get an answer to and no one has addressed yet. Where can you get a copy of Internet Explorer 8 that will directly, or with a work around, install on Windows 7? Actually that is all of the updates.

The reason the slider shows is strictly because of the length of the descriptions of the updates in the right column. Also notice there is room for 5 more updates in the right column. Browse Community.

Not sure at this point if this was Dell's doing or MS's doing either. And I see that the links I provided automatically posted the pictures. I have this problem too, and after much tinkering, and sleuthing, I do not think it is add-on related. I just uninstalled Flash, and installed thier beta version of Flash Both browsers still go to Not Responding mode as a video begins to load.

I'm on a two month old HP Notebook. You seem to offer an approach nobody else is suggesting Could you, or someone else, talk a layman through your suggestion?

This is a frustrating and persistent problem. Some say Add-ons are not responsible, and others claim to be playing video to cause the lockup. How, exactly, are you playing this video? If you would describe that in some detail, people could try to reproduce the problem.

Internet Explorer does not lock up by itself. It's because of something that's been added to your system, or your 3rd party system software e. I diseable the Skypee Add on and the problem got resolved. Of course now I don't have Skype access, then shame on Skype. Then that driver broke the Video and Media Center. Then I decide to go back with the restore point that I created before to install Lexmark and the problem is resolved, but of course I don't have Printer!!!

What happen with Microsoft? I have bought box of problems. I have some knowledge of computers but what about the common person that just want plug and use the new PC?

I know this is kinda late to contribute ove six months late , but we experience similar problem with new HP with Windows 7 home premium edition. I have 4 machines Nerd PC Gamer 3 with 64bit, and 1 laptop with 32 bit. Only one out of three machines 64bit gives me problems. One observation, I am finding that problem is triggered by adding a new tab, or when clicking on the "Safety" next to "tools" Top bar Menu. Just clicking on it, without selecting an actual function within tha menu is enough to lock IE8 brower from 30 seconds to a full minute.

The Flash, add ons, plug ins versions, conflicts have been explored a lot already, including starting IE8 32bit or 64 bit, with or without add-ons, including Flash. No change. The solution I came up with was to go into "Manage Addons" and disable the flash player addon. Then go to adobe and download and istall their latest version of flash player. That solved it for me. Go into 'programs and Features' search for anything that says Toolbar. If you find any, and there could be many of them - uninstall them.

I can continue using computer, and even open another session of IE8, but the session where I am requesting IE8 to open a New Tab, continues to be locked for almost a minute.

I cannot force a close via Task Manager, I either have to shutdown or wait until "unlocks" itself, when that same IE session starts responding again, everything works well until I try to open a New Tab. The only work around for now, is to open a new IE8 session, or use FireFox. Also tried uninstalling IE8 and installing it back on, same results.

Have tried resetting all defaults as recommended on other postings. I do not recall specific time when issue started, perhaps when I installed Windows 7. Thank you in advance for any help on this, lsourdis. Wednesday, December 9, PM.
